Aurice Lorene Bradford, 92 of Salina, died May 18,
2011. Aurice was born February 23, 1919 in Cowley
County near Atlanta, Kansas and was the youngest of four children
born to Herbert Stuber Groom and Amy Woodside Groom.
After graduating, Aurice married her high school sweetheart
Harold E. Bradford on August 3, 1938 in ElDorado, Kansas. She was a
homemaker and was a wonderful mother to her four children. Aurice
had several hobbies including playing the piano, photography,
traveling, keeping a daily diary, reading and genealogy. She
lived in Russell, Zurich and Winfield Kansas and Beaver, Oklahoma
moving to Salina, Kansas in 1999.
Aurice was a member of First Christian Church of Winfield,
Kansas and the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary.
Aurice was preceded in death by her husband Harold on September,
24, 2002, her parents, two brothers, Raymond and Elmo Groom and
sister, Thelma Lanier.
She is survived and will be greatly missed by two sons, Brother
Lawrence Bradford, Atchison, Kansas; Harold R. Bradford, San Simon,
Arizona; two daughters, Karen Lee and husband Arthur, Salina:
Shirley Ruda and husband Kenneth, Atwood, Kansas. Seven
grandchildren, Bradford and Jennifer Lee, Cedar Falls, Iowa;
Marla (Lee) Opat, Salina, Kansas; Natalie (Ruda) and John Seybold,
Helotes, Texas; Kenneth Ruda, Leawood, Kansas; James and
Angela Ruda, Wichita, Kansas; Kathy (Ruda) Livas, Atwood, Kansas;
and Christy (Ruda) and Matt Park, Oakley, Kansas; fifteen
great grandchildren, James, Elijah, and Krista Lee, Olivia
and Sara Opat, Megan and Trevor Seybold, Austin and Brock
Ruda, Katelyn, Madelyn and Ashlyn Livas, Tyler, Kylie
and Ella Park, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
There will be no visitation. The body was
cremated. A graveside service will be held Saturday,
June 18th, at 2:00 pm with inurnment in Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas is in charge of
arrangements.
