Carolie Jean Hoffman
Carolie Hoffman, 86, passed away Thursday, November 3, 2011 at
her home in Enterprise, Kansas.
Carolie was born August 7, 1925 at Galatia, Kansas, daughter of
Hoyt and Laura (Saylor) Wolfenbarger. She attended Talmage
Elementary School and graduated from Chapman High School in
1943. She married Earl McKeeman (1945-57) and Reed Hoffman in
1959 to present day. She was an employee of the Santa Fe
Railroad for 35 years. She was a member of the Santa Fe
Women's Club, Topeka Toastmistress Club, Beta Sigma Phi, the
Eastern Star, and the Enterprise United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter
Deriece McKeeman, a talented dancer and actress, all of whom died
in a collision with a drunk driver in 1974. She is survived
by her husband - Reed Hoffman, her brother - Dr. Keith
Wolfenbarger, Earl McKeeman, son - Kevin McKeeman, his wife
Lorine, and their children; Trevor & Dr. Leah McKeeman, Brent
& Amanda
McKeeman, Monette and Captain Christopher Murdock, and two great
grandchildren; Fynn and Emma McKeeman.
Carolie died unexpectedly at home following sinus surgery.
Carolie was a generous, caring person and lively in
conversation. She loved her family and will be greatly
missed.
The family suggests memorial contributions be given in her name
to the Enterprise United Methodist Church, PO Box, 308, Enterprise,
Kansas 67441. A private family service will be held at a
later date.
