Fred Alvin Rooker, 76, of Salina passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Hospice of Salina.
He was born March 7, 1935 in Wray, Colorado to Cecil and Mildred (Thomas) Rooker.

He married Maria "Connie" Aquino-Tandaguen on December 8, 1973 while serving in the U.S. Air Force in the Philippines. They made their home in Stockton, Kansas before moving to Salina in 1991.

Fred is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Survivors include his son, Bernie "Carlos" Perez of Salina; brothers, Robert (Sherry) Rooker of Denver, Colorado, and Boyd (Beverly) Rooker of Suffolk, Virginia; sisters, Betty Young of Wichita, Kansas, Fern (Bill) Mattheyer of WaKeeny, Kansas, and Dorothy James of WaKeeny, Kansas; grandsons, Filip Perez and Chandler Perez of Salina; great grandson, Maxton Perez of Salina; sister in law, Carmen (Jim) Richie of Salina; as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

A funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, April 14, 2011 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, with Pastor Loren Forbes officiating.

Friends are invited to call Thursday at 2:00 until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Cremation will follow the funeral and inurnment will be at 9:00 a.m., Friday, April 15 at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
