Hubert Adolph "Hugh" Erker, 81, of Salina, passed away
Friday, June 17th, 2011 at Hospice of Salina.
Mr. Erker was born in Ost, Kansas on September 20, 1929, the son
of the late Julius Hubert and Agnes Mary (Ast) Erker.
He was a graduate of Gypsum High School. On May 20,
1950 he married Velma Louise Reed in Solomon, Kansas, at the
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Hubert worked as an Electrician for Mobil Oil in Guymon,
Oklahoma.
He was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in
Salina.
Hubert really enjoyed life. He lived his life to the
fullest, everyday. Some of he and his family's fondest
memories and best times involved being around the water. They
lived in 2 lake houses, fished and played on 52 lakes in six
states, and wore out 6 boats. His family will cherish the
memories created, during those times, always.
He is survived by his son; Stacey (Mary) Erker of Salina;
daughters, Sharon K. Bryan of Mesa, Arizona, Janis Crow of Salina,
and Michele (Michael) Livesay of Salina; as well as six
grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Hubert is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Velma; grandson
Jeffrey Bonner; and granddaughter, Charity Ann Elam.
Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass of Christian
Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 24, 2011 at
Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Solomon, Kansas, with Fr.
John Wolesky officiating.
Inurment will follow the Memorial Mass at Prairie Mound Cemetery
in Solomon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to
Hospice of Salina, 730 Holly Ln., Salina, Kansas 67401.
