Jim came to our banquet last February. He complimented alot on our small banquet compared to the larger ones he attends. It was so nice to have met him and have him give us some insights on the organization. He was very proud of the work he did for Pheasant Forever. He did buy a watch on our auction. It was funny as he told me he never wears a watch but really liked the looks of that one and couldn't resist. Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family, and to the Organization for the loss of a very dedicated member. Sally Peter- on behalf of Tailfeather Tribe 534

My condolences go to the family and friends of Jim Schweitzer. He really had a passion for his work and truly enjoyed the outdoors - especially hunting pheasants. I enjoyed getting to know Jim through his work with Pheasants Forever and mine with KS. Dept. of Wildlife & Parks. Jim and I met many times to discuss cooperative efforts such as youth events and habitat efforts with one of his chapters. Jim took the time to meet with all of KDWP property managers in Northwest Kansas to see the work they were doing and how we could work together. It was a shock to hear of Jim's passing. I pray that God will provide comfort for your broken hearts and that you will always remember Jim's enthusiasm for life God Bless Mike Nyhoff

I never met Mr. Schweitzer in person, but the few correspondences that I have had with him showed me that he was a person who genuinely cared about his profession and wildlife. He seemed to be a very kind and honest person. My condolences to his friends, family, and loved ones. He will be greatly missed.

I've known Jimbo a long time- since Mark Crueger introduced him as a dirt bike buddy probably almost 20 yrs ago- and last enjoyed a week visit by him when he came out and stayed with Malia and I when he found out i lived near a famous moto-x track-a few years ago-- I was nicknamed "Boato" by him because I always had boats and was just trying to call him to show him my SeaRay I just got- and hoped to entice him back out here-although the last time I boated with him on the colorado river about 15 yrs ago= he literally took over my boat all day! It was hilarious really- he decided to crown himself "Captain" and started doling out the coveted seats like it was his boat- and if i remember right i think i was drunk already around 10am {typical river run i guess} so he probably saved my life now that i think about it- Jims positive attitude, and exuberance will be with me forever- he was a rare guy- I am super bummed.......rip Jimbo-! Truly saddened with the news of Jim's passing, but so blessed to have had him as a friend, He was the 1st person I met @ the University of Maryland Munich Campus, way back in January 1975. He greeted my Parents & me with that big voice & smile & helped carry my things up to my room. Later he visited my family in Wiesbaden & in turn I spent time with his family in Belgium. We reconnected in 2001 at a WHS reunion, & Jim was made an honorary Warrior. He attended a few more reunions & was always able to make everyone he talked with feel comfortable. I'm blessed & lucky to have known Jim "J.C." Schweitzer.

I went to school with Jim at University of Maryland, Munich Campus back in 1975, he was one of my roommates. I had not seen or contacted him since then. I only recently heard that he had passed away from one of the members of a Facebook Group Page entitled, University of Maryland Munich: https://www.facebook.com/keithhpatton/posts/255348884557011#!/groups/5942792972/ In fact there are a number of pictures of Jim from those days, in the photo album section. The lead picture today is one featuring him sitting in front of the group of all of us who lived together. I was shocked and saddened to hear that he had passed on. I thought his surviving family and friends might enjoy seeing the pictures. Keith Patton, Houston Texas
