Rodney "Rockey Grabner was a great police Officer to work with. I worked many calls with Rodney. When I went to dispatvh, he trained me and a few other officers. He really took great care of me. He was a patient and gentle officer. He would express some things he disliked about the job, but never showed his temper. He took things in stride. I worked with him during the decade of the 1980's. Everyone, officers the upper echelon, and the civilians loved Rocky. He had what soliers call "the thousand yard stare." We never knew what he was thinking or what his next move would be. Rodney could stare you down. As an officer on the street, he could get confessions without uttering a word. Rodney nd I loved to talk spots, particuly the K.U. Jayhawks, and the Kansas City Royals and Chiefs. His demise was a shock to every one who knew him. Your family has lost a very lovable guy. I lost a brother officer. He loved talking about his family, and loved spending time with them. As a code enforcement officer, his office was right across from my wife's office at the water Department at the City County Building. She saw and talked to him a lot. Peggy and I extend our deepest sympathy. We loved him and will miss him. My wife, Peggy and I extend our deepst sympathy. You all will be in our thoughts and prayer
