Dina Louise Hackney

Dina Louise Hackney, 63, passed away on May 10, 2025. Born on November 13, 1961, to Daniel and Nola Cromwell, Dina brought warmth, light, and joy to every life she touched. She now joins her beloved parents in eternal peace.

Dina was a loving wife to Ed Hackney, with whom she shared countless adventures, including their favorite — riding motorcycles together and chasing sunsets by the beach. She was the proud mother of Dane Branfort (Amanda) and Brandi Lacy (Michael), and stepmother to Cody Hackney and Caitlin Hackney. Her grandchildren — Colton, Carsyn, Kyler, Dawson, Kenna, Presley, Ainsley, Cameron, Bentlee, and Kala — were her pride and joy. She is also survived by her siblings, Debbie (Nolan) Meier, Sandy King, Melodee (Rodney) Larsen, Benny (Jeannine) Cromwell and Carole (Digger) Liggett.

Dina had a spirit that could light up a room — she was truly the life of the party. Whether she was planning a beach getaway, cheering on her K-State Wildcats, or singing along at a concert, she brought energy, laughter, and love wherever she went. Her generous heart was unmatched — she never hesitated to pick up the tab, bring thoughtful gifts, or wrap you in one of her famous hugs. Her lasagna was legendary, her kindness knew no bounds, and her infamous smirk always hinted at just the right mix of mischief and love.

She had a deep love for animals, especially her dog, who was never far from her side. Dina’s adventurous soul, contagious laughter, and giving spirit leave a legacy that will live on in every life she touched.

Her family invites you to join in a celebration of Dina’s life at The Sullivan at United Capital Plaza, 227 N Santa Fe 2nd Floor, on Thursday, June 12, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM. In addition, there will be final cheers to Dina at the Blind Pig Sports Lounge Friday, June 13, from 4:00PM – 7:00PM.
