Eddie Weis

Edgar L. 'Eddie' Weis Eddie L. Weis, 87, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, June 17th, in Salina. Eddie was born in Salina, on May 19, 1927, to the late Anna Louise (Jend) and Samuel Walter Weis. Eddie worked as a division manager at Sears in Salina for 38 years. He spent his retirement working at First Covenant Church and as floor manager at the Steifel Theatre in Salina, where he worked as a floor manager in his youth. He was a member of First Covenant Church. Eddie married Betty Lou Hammond, On January 11, 1948 in Salina. Survivors include his wife, Betty; daughter, Ann (Carson) Peck, of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Mary (George) Overstreet, of Salina; sons, Michael (Terry) Weis, of Salina, and Harold Weis, of Salina; sister, Arlene McClain, of Salina; as well as 7 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Eddie was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Paul Weis. At the family's request there will be no visitation. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 19th, at First Covenant Church, in the Life Center, with Rev. Doug McHenry officiating. Interment will follow at Walnut Grove Cemetery.
