Lindsborg, Kansas Minnie "Joyce" Staggs Minnie “Joyce” Staggs, passed away Wednesday, September 29, 2021 at her home after a short battle with cancer. Joyce was born on January 3, 1939 at her home in rural Saline County. She was the daughter of Arther and Beulah (Smith) Johnson. Joyce attended Wheeler Rural School and graduated from McPherson High School in 1957. On June 24, 1960, Joyce married Jim Staggs at the First Baptist Church in Lindsborg. They had a reception at the Bachman Ice Cream Company where she worked. They were blessed with two children, Crystal Hiebert, of Lindsborg and Robert Staggs (Brenda), of Buhler. They have seven grandchildren, Shaun, Paul, Alicia, Ashlee, Katelynn, Jamie, and Paige. Joyce had a passion for farm life and animals. She worked hard on the farm and off the farm at Bachman Ice Cream, The Emporium, and Bethany Home. She enjoyed raising dogs, (Australian Shepard), horses, chickens, etc. Joyce is preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Raymond, Muriel, Don, and Sam. A graveside service to celebrate Joyce’s life will be at 2:00 pm, Monday, October 4th, 2021 at Rosehill Cemetery on Fairchild Road in Saline County.
