Obituary

Angela Sue Hopkins, 53, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Wednesday, August 26, 2026.

Angela was born on November 25, 1972, in Salina, Kansas, to Duane and Sandra Sue (Kats) Hernbloom.

A gifted student, Angela graduated as Valedictorian of the Ell‑Saline High School Class of 1991 and was a proud member of the National Honor Society. She continued her education at Kansas State University, where she became a dedicated Wildcat alumna.

Angela devoted her life to serving others through her faith, family, and community. At times in her life, she taught Sunday School at First Covenant Church and was actively involved with Young Life in both Salina and Wichita. She generously shared her time and talents through the Ell‑Saline CPTA and Booster Club. Angela lived an active lifestyle and enjoyed staying fit through regular workouts and exercise. A passionate Kansas City Chiefs fan, she held season tickets for 15 years and rarely missed the chance to cheer on her beloved team.

Known for her generous spirit, Angela gave freely of her time, resources, and encouragement. She touched countless lives with her kindness and her unwavering willingness to serve. Whether supporting her church, nurturing her family, or helping run the family business, she approached every responsibility with a servant’s heart and steadfast dedication.

On September 21, 1996, Angela married the love of her life, Jeremy Hopkins. Together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love. With Jeremy coaching football and both boys playing, Angela quickly became known as “Mrs. Coach.” She was Jeremy’s biggest supporter, and her pride in their sons was immeasurable. Noah now coaches’ football, and Eli participates in mission trips—accomplishments that brought her tremendous joy.

Above all, Angela was a devoted wife and loving mother. Her greatest joy was supporting Noah and Eli through every stage of their lives—on the sidelines, at school events, and in the everyday moments at home. She was their constant encourager, their steady source of strength, and a daily example of faith, kindness, and perseverance. The love she shared with Jeremy and their sons was the foundation of her life, and her family remained her proudest accomplishment.

Together, Angela and Jeremy built a family business that became their pride and joy. Angela cared deeply for their employees and treated each one like family.

She is survived by her husband, Jeremy Hopkins; her sons, Noah Hopkins and Elijah Hopkins, both of Salina; her sisters, Brenda Saint (Mark) of Loveland, Colorado, and Jennifer Hernbloom of Kansas City, Kansas; and many extended family members, friends, and all those whose lives were blessed by knowing her.

Angela was preceded in death by her parents, Duane and Sandra Sue Hernbloom.

A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at First Covenant Church in Salina, Kansas, with Pastor Doug McHenry officiating.

The family requests donations be made to Salina Area Young Life or Serve Globally, in care of Carlson‑Geisendorf Funeral Home.
