Audrey Jane Hawkes Beemer

Audrey Jane Hawkes Beemer, 96, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025.

Born in Smolan, Kansas, on May 8, 1928, Audrey was the beloved daughter of Effie (Anderson) and John Gustafson, who preceded her in death.

Audrey’s life was defined by love for her family and dedication to her community. She is survived by her daughter, Kathy Barrett (Tom), of Solomon; two sons, Gary Hawkes (Nancy), of Salina, Larry Hawkes, of Wichita; and step children, Vaughn Beemer (Sheila), and Barb Keeler. Her legacy extends to her 4 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and 4 step-great-grandchildren, who will forever cherish her memory.

She is reunited with those she loved and lost, including her husbands, Maurice Hawkes and Wilbur Beemer; her grandson, Ryan Hawkes; and her brothers, James Gustafson and Harris Gustafson.

In accordance with her wishes, Audrey will be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 am, Monday, May 5th, at Gypsum Community Church in Gypsum, Kansas. She will be laid to rest at Gypsum City Cemetery at a later date.
