Betty Eileen Stockamp

Betty Eileen (Wilson) Stockamp Betty E. Stockamp, 90, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Sunday, April 13th, at Smoky Hill Rehabilitation Center, Kansas. Betty was born on March 5, 1924, in Sterling, Colorado. She was the daughter of Roscoe Wilson and Goldie (Hamilton) Wilson. The Union Pacific moved the family numerous times before finally coming to Salina. Betty graduated in 1942 from Salina and later went to work for Lee Hardware. On June 29, 1947, Betty married Walter Stockamp and he precedes her in death. Betty was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas. She enjoyed her grandchildren and collecting cat figurines. She loved baseball and was always cheering for her favorite teams. Her dog Mitzie was the joy of her life and best friend. Survivors include her daughter, Bonnie (Bob) Hanson of Cambridge, Illinois, and son, Robert (Janene) Stockamp of Salina. Also surviving are grandchildren, Ryan (Cassie) Hanson of Cambridge, Illinois, Eric (Tara) Hanson, Indianola, Iowa, Kari Hanson of Des Moines, Iowa, Ward (Kristina) Stockamp of Bennington, Kansas. Also surviving are 6 great-grandchildren and one brother, Thom (Margo) Wilson of Arizona and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Walter; brother, Robert Wilson; sister, Beverly Gateno; and grandson, Barry Stockamp. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 16, 2014 from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the funeral home with Pastor Shawn Deterding officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Salina Animal Shelter or Trinity Lutheran Church and left in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401.
