Beverly Ann Hicks, 81, of Salina passed away, Tuesday, August 4th at Salina Regional Health Center. She was born in Brownell, Kansas on June 6, 1934 to the late John and Emma Anderson. Bev was a 1952 graduate of Washington High School. She married her first husband Donald Ross Lane in 1952, and he died serving overseas. She married the love of her life, Vernon E. Hicks, on February 14, 1957. They shared 42 years of marriage until he passed away. Bev enjoyed playing and watching basketball, cooking, traveling, and spending time with her family. Especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed bowling and was inaugurated into the Hall of Fame at All Star Lanes in 2013. In her younger years, she coached the league kids. Bev was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States Post #1432. She also donated monthly to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Bev was an amazingly sweet and generous lady who was loved by all who knew her. Bev is preceded in death by her parents; both of her husbands; children, Tony, Christine, and Scott; grandchildren, Chad and Crystal; and her best friend Helen Miller. Survivors include her daughter, Roxann Dupre and husband Eddie, of Salina; daughter, Verna Goble, of Salina; son, Johnny Hicks, of Alaska; grandchildren, Catrina, Chris, Shannon, Kelsey and her fianc Derrick, and Kortney; and great grandchildren, Xandra, Kaiden, Trinity, Tone, Jordan, Emily, Ryan, Brayden, Paityn, Kamdyn, Karsyn, and an unborn baby due in March. Visitation will be at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home from 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Sunday August 9th, with family greeting friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10th, with Pastor Jon Fillipi, officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park Gardens. Flowers are welcome, or memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
