Bohman Kunc, the son of Steve Kunc and Miloslava (Cyrus) Kunc was born August 14, 1928 in Narka, Kansas, passed away on December 5, 2025 at Salina Regional Health Care.
Bohman's parents moved to the United States from Czechoslovakia in 1925 and he was the first of his family to be born in the US.
On May 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Freitag and they were blessed with daughter Janice and adopted son Erlyn. The couple made their home in rural Narka for several years. He had a mail route that would have him drive over 100 miles total each day, along with caring for the farm. In 1992, he retired as a mail carrier and they moved to Belleville, Kansas to live until 2011, when they moved to Salina, Kansas.
Bohman was an avid square dancer, loved traveling all over the US and abroad, and was very active in his Czech community and lodge.
He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Janice; son, Erlyn; and wife Mary.
Bohman is survived by his granddaughter, JaNā Maupin of Galveston, Texas; son-in-law, Steve Maupin of Humble, Texas; and other relatives and friends.
Cremation was selected and a small service will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 4th at Eaglecrest Senior Living of Salina. Anthony, the chaplain from Gentiva hospice, will say a few words.
Family inurnment will be held at a later date at the National Cemetery, rural Narka, Kansas.
