Carol Yvonne Wolsieffer Carol Yvonne Wolsieffer, 88, a long time resident of Salina, passed away peacefully of natural causes at her home Saturday, April 4, 2015. Carol was born in LaCrosse, Kansas on February 3, 1927. She was the second child of the late Grace (Edwards) and Lawrence Alger. She attended LaCrosse High School and Fort Hays State College. On August 4, 1951, Carol married Tom Wolsieffer, who passed away in 1999 after 48 years of marriage. Carol was happy and outgoing. She was friendly and had a wonderful sense of humor. She was always the ‘life of the party’ at any gathering. Carol had a positive outlook even when facing the trials of breast cancer and diabetes. Carol had several careers in her life. She was the longtime receptionist for Rapid Air Service at the Salina Airport. She enjoyed meeting the pilots and various celebrities who came through the airport. Later, she managed a mini-warehouse business while raising two children. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Survivors include her sons, Mike Wolsieffer, and wife Beth, of Smolan, Kansas; Gary Wolsieffer, and wife Lynn, of Manchester, Massachusetts; brother, Wayne, husband of Darlene Alger, of Lakewood, Colorado; sister, Crystal Dellett, of LaCrosse, Kansas; and grandson, Ben Wolsieffer, of Manchester, Massachusetts. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; brother, Lawrence Gilbert Alger; and sisters, Marilyn Koci and Joan Murry. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 17th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 18th, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Fr. Barry Brinkman officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association; 837 S. Hillside; Wichita, Kansas 67211.
