Carolyn Sue Shank

Carolyn Sue Shank, 79, of Salina, Kansas, passed away peacefully at home with family, Monday, May 18th, 2020. Carolyn was born in Herington, Kansas on October 31, 1940, a daughter of the late Muriel Velerie (Nott) Oliver and Glen Crandall Stice. On July 16, 1977, Carolyn married Robert Shank Sr. at St. John's Lutheran Church in Salina, Kansas. She received her degree in accounting from Brown Mackie College, loved the Washington Redskins, Green Bay Packers, KU football, gardening, reading, and dancing. Carolyn and Bob owned Robert "Bob" Shank Auction Service and she was a lifetime member of the Salina VFW Post 1432. Survivors include daughter, Terri Ponting Boyer, of Salina, Kansas; three sons, Tim Ponting, (Elizabeth), of Marquette, Kansas, Jeff Ponting, (Kelly), of McPherson, Robert Shank Jr., (Janet), of Gleason, Wisconsin. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 36 great grandchildren, 5.6 great great grandchildren; special friend, Carol Weiss and beloved dog, Missy. She is preceded in death by her brothers, Crandall Stice, Harold Stice; and sister, Nadine Hill. Cremation has been chosen. Graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Friday, May 22, 2020 at Gypsum Hill Cemetery, Salina, Kansas, with Chaplain Rick Schrag officiating. Donations may be made to Kindred Hospice, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas 67401. The family would like to thank Kindred Hospice, Brookdale Assisted Living, Dr. Christopher Wood, Dr. Drew Rose, and Dr. Jeffrey Geitz for their wonderful care.
