Charleen A. Miller Charleen A. Miller, 103, of Salina, passed away Friday, February 24th, at Windsor Estates Nursing Home in Salina. Charleen Mohler was born in Lamar, Kansas on Feb. 17, 1909, to the late Libbie E. 'Lena' (Rice) and Charles F. Mohler. Mrs. Miller graduated from the Minneapolis High School in 1927; she attended and graduated from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia with a Bachelor's Degree in Music in 1931, and received her Master's Degree in 1967. She was a career educator with a lifetime teaching certificate. Charleen was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, the Quivera Club, GFC of Kansas, FCE Homemaker Club, Economic Homemaker Club, a past Solomon Librarian, a past Manager at the Solomon Senior Center,and a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Society. Survivors include her four sons; Bruce G. Walker and wife Lorrie, of Garland, Texas; Dean A. Walker and wife Alice, of Valley Center; Charles L. Walker and wife Judy, of Wichita; Merle G. Walker and wife Gayla, of Brookville; a step son, Dale E. Miller, of Land O Lakes, Florida; as well numerous grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Donald L. Walker and Oliver Miller; and son, Perle E. Walker. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at the Presbyterian Church in Solomon, with Rev. Jack Craig officiating. Burial will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Solomon, Kansas. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00am to 8:00pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home in Salina, with the family receiving friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Memorial contributions may be made in Charleen's name to the Solomon Senior Center, 119 W. 4th, Solomon, Kansas 67480.
