Charles 'Chuck' Edward Byer Charles Edward Byer, 68, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, May 10th, 2011. Charles was born in Ulysses, Kansas on April 6, 1943, the son of the late Alfred and Ruth Byer. Before his retirement, Chuck was a mechanic for Philips Lighting in Salina and a member of Salina Masonic Lodge # 60 and Isis Shrine in Salina. In 2000, Charles married Janeth K. Waldschmidt in Miami, Oklahoma. Survivors include his wife Janeth Byer of the home; sons: Chris Byer and wife Somboun of Lawrence, Kansas, Vince Byer of Texas; step daughters: Dayna Jackson and her husband Scott of Maricopa, Arizona, Nicole Burch of Salina, Kansas, Rebecca Martindale and husband Terry of Coffeyville, Kansas; step sons: Steven Ridge and his wife Cheriof Arroyo Grande, California, Christopher Burch and wife Christina of Salina, Kansas. He is also survived by 19 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.He is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Bonnie Byer. Cremation has been chosen and the family will greet friends for a Memorial Reception at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, from 5 pm - 7 pm on Friday, May 13th.
