Cleo Allene Cook, 83, of Salina, passed away, Friday, May 13, 2011 at Dignity Care Home, Salina. She was born in Independence, KS on December 24, 1927, the daughter of the late Fred and Mable O. (Brooks) Goodwin. Cleo was married to William C. Lies on March 8, 1943. They later divorced, and on February 20, 1958 she married Carmen J. Cook. Mr. and Mrs. Cook owned and operated two Fred Astaire Dance Schools for 15 years. She retired working as a medical transcriptionist in Salina. Cleo was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Carmen Cook; sister, Fredda Frain; and brother, Bud Morgan. She is survived by her nieces, Shari Frain-Masterson and her husband Olcan, of Westport, Ireland; Sue Rzeszut, of Hammond Indiana; and Mary Kay Galbraith, of Santa Cruz, California. Cremation has taken place and there are no services planned. Private family inurnment will be held at the Calvary Cemetery in Independence, KS.
