Cory Matthew Hopkins

Cory Matthew Hopkins, 49, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2026.

Cory was born on February 9, 1977, in Salina, Kansas, and was raised by Nadine (Staab) and Quentin "Hoppy" Hopkins.

Cory was an avid sports fan who especially loved KU basketball and the Kansas City Chiefs. He also enjoyed dirt track racing, WWE wrestling, video games, and spending time with friends at the district, where he loved playing trivia. Cory will be remembered for his enthusiasm, his loyalty to his teams, and the time he shared with those around him.

Survivors include two sisters, Michele Hopkins and Darla Simpson; nieces and nephews, Laramie Gahman (Michaela), Jame Simpson (Cristina), Jason Hopkins (Nicole), Rich Hopkins (Kelly), Jeremy Hopkins (Angela), Colby Gahman, Kinsley Gahman, Jarod Simpson (Briana); and sister-in-law, Chris Hopkins.

He is also survived by many other family members, including Natalie, and Lukas Gahman; Josie McNelly (Jordan); Caylie Clovis (Tanner); Sadie, Wade, and Reagan Simpson; Jacob, Rylee, Ricki, Gage, Eli, Noah, and Coleson Hopkins (Mialee).

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nadine and Quentin "Hoppy" Hopkins; his brother, Terry Hopkins; and his brother-in-law, Dale Simpson.

Cory’s wishes were to be cremated, and no services are planned at this time.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
