Daniel Bill Gilbert, 55, of Salina, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his residence. Daniel was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on June 11, 1958, to the late Doris E. (Rowan) and Billy E. Gilbert. Daniel was a 1976 graduate of Salina South High School and he attended Coffeyville Community College. He worked as a Ceiling Mechanic for 20 years at Delbert Chopp Company in Salina. Survivors include his daughter, Sadie Marie Weis, of Berlin, Germany; son,Nathan Paul Gilbert, of Minneapolis, Kansas; grand daughter, Hailey Marie Gilbert, of Minneapolis, Kansas. He is also survived by sisters, Nora R. Gilbert, of Lenexa, Kansas, Laura E. Pew, of Lenexa, Kansas, Melanie J. Tidball, of Natoma, Kansas, and M. Jean (Dave) Browne, of Monongahela, Pennsylvania; brother, Kenneth A. (Beth) Gilbert, of Chales Town, West Virginia; ; as well as, 5 nephews, 1 niece, and 2 grand nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 19th, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with Pastor Ben MacConnell officiating. Visitation will be from 2:00 p.m. until service time. Interment will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Daniel's name to the charity of the donor's choice.
