Daniel Hyde Moss, 91, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025.
Born in Beloit, Kansas, on August 9, 1934, to Eva (Vanschoick) and Leroy Moss, Dan lived a full and adventurous life. In his younger years, he found joy in skydiving and scuba diving around island destinations. He was also a passionate big game hunter and a dedicated collector of firearms.
In 1954, Dan married the love of his life, Berta Timbers Moss. Together, they shared many happy years until her passing in 2022. Dan’s career as a water well driller took him and his family across various states, shaping a life rich in experience and resilience.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Krista Decker (Kurt); sons, Zan Moss (Kerry) and Arden Moss (Jodi); sister, Evelyn Adams; and sister-in-law, Bernita Eberle. He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Jordan, Kanah, Preston, Sarah, Janny Tam, Kayli, and Libby; as well as 13 great-grandchildren who brought him immense pride and joy.
He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved wife, Berta, two brothers, and two sisters.
Cremation has been chosen, and a memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Salina, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
