David L. Urbanek, 66, of Salina, passed away Thursday, October 20, 2011 at Salina Regional Health Center. David was born in Ellsworth, Kansas on February 25, 1945, the son of the late Margaret R. (Schrader) and Benjamin J. Urbanek. He worked as a handy man. David was a 22 year member of the Kansas Army National Guard, serving with Company B; 635th Unit 2nd Armory Command out of Salina, KS. David is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Joseph Urbanek; daughter, Leila Richardson; daughter-in-law, Linda LaRae Urbanek; grandchildren, James D. Urbanek and Matthew L. Hoffman; and great grandson, Clayden L. Urbanek. He is survived by his daughters, Leona S. Urbanek, Lavelle M. Urbanek, Lorie A. Urbanek, Rosina M. Urbanek, Christina L. Urbanek, and Crystal L. Urbanek; sons, David W. Urbanek, Richard A. Urbanek Jenson, David L. Urbanek II, Benjamin J. Urbanek, and Jack E. Urbanek; ex-wives, Rocksana J. Urbanek and Sharon Sutton; brothers, James Urbanek, Gary Urbanek, Donald Urbanek; sisters, Rosemary Rathburn, Teresa Richards, and Valerie Urbanek; other children, Starla Fauci-Wills, Janna K. Smith, Flecia A. Ellis, Laura McDaniels, Angela Urbanek, James C. Hoffman, Jason M. Reeves, and Curtis Smith; as well as grandchildren, Jessie A. Jackson, Crystal Jackson, Kimberly Richards, Heather Urbanek, Holly Urbanek, Casey Urbanek, Katlynn Urbanek, Amber Urbanek, Diana Lance, Jeffrey Lance, Harley Lance, Jorden Urbanek, Jordan Vanarsdall, Jessica Urbanek, Rebecca Urbanek, Elizabeth Urbanek, Clayton Urbanek, Paris Burgess, Jasmine Smith, Alecia Smith-Haynes, Blane Urbanek, Jessalynn Urbanek, Dakota Hoffman, Anthony Raccagno, Orion Reeves, Serenity Reeves, Christie James, Zachary Smith, Kaden Urbanek, Arial Urbanek, Dalton Smith, and 19 great grandchildren. Funeral Services will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 25, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, with Fr. Kerry Ninemire officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home with family greeting friends from 6-8 with a Vigil service at 7.
