David William Shannon David William Shannon, 81, of Salina, passed away Wednesday, April 22nd, peacefully at his home. David was born in Salina, Kansas on January 20, 1934, to the late Letia (Pyle) and Clarence Jay Shannon. David was a retired Chief Warrant Officer in the United States Navy. He was also a member of First Southern Bapist Church in Salina. David married Glenna Anderson on November 27, 1956. She survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Cindy Knox and husband Steve, of Minneapolis, Kansas; grandson, Shawn Knox, of Minneapolis, Kansas; brothers, Chuck Shannon and wife Bobbie , of Salina, and Joe Shannon and wife Cheryl, of Vidor, Texas; sisters, Letia Mae Gay, of Andover, Kansas; Clara Herbel and husband Delwin, of Salina, Kansas; sisters-in-law; Barbara L. Shannon, of Salina, and Carol Shannon, of Hutchinson; as well as many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; son, William Shannon; brothers, Arthur Shannon, Jack Shannon, and Jim Shannon; sisters, Ethel Geer, Margaret Yeagley, Gladys Denny, and Mary Alice Knight. Visitation will be on Sunday, April 26, from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home. The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m., Monday, April 27 at First Southern Baptist Church, with Rev. Greg Savage officiating.
