Donald Eugene Drake Donald Eugene Drake, 87, of Redlands, California, passed away Saturday, April 30th, 2011. Mr. Drake was born in On a Farm Near Bennington, Kansas on November 1, 1923, the son of the late Harry Clark and Lillian (Jordan) Drake. Donald served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. He retired from the State of California and was a very active Mason. He also worked at Cozy Inn in Salina, while attending Kansas Wesleyan University. Survivors include his companion: Marcia Ellyson, sister: Helen Gray of Salina, Kansas; 3 Nephews: Larry, Jerry, Don; 2 Nieces: Delores and Deb. He is preceded in death by a brother: Francis Drake and sister: Thelma Crawford. At the family's request there will be no visitation. A graveside service will be held at Bennington Cemetery, Bennington, Kansas on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
