Donalda Marie Baier, 76, of Manhattan, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017. Donalda was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 1, 1941, a daughter of the late Wanda (Daniewicz) and Harry Augustowski. She retired as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and was a member of Unity Church. Survivors include daughter, Debi Holcomb, and husband Cary, of Manhattan, Kansas and son, Bryan Baier, of Salina, Kansas; sisters, Chris Piekarski, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kathie Wisniewski, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Geri Augustowski, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Lori Rainer, and husband Ken, of Cudahy, Wisconsin; brother, Dennis Augustowski, and wife Debbie, of Fremont, Wisconsin. She is also survived by 3 Grandchildren, Tasha Holcomb, Sara Holcomb, Kaela Baier; 3 great grandchildren, Tyler Machor, Brandon Stroud, Alyce Baier-Ritchey. Donalda was also survived by a host of diverse and loving friends. Donalda, aka Donnie or Donna, was a unique woman who never met a stranger and was loved by all. Her spirit was adventurous and her life was one of service to others. She was an amazing Army wife during the era of the Vietnam War, an active 4-H leader, and dedicated most of her adult life as a counselor and advocate for women who were addicted. She had the gift of accepting of everyone, demonstrated by her unconditional love. Donalda was a gifted gardener, an avid reader, and a beautiful painter. Donalda graduated from Manhattan Area Technical College in 1976 and was a practicing LPN before graduating from Marymount College in Salina where she went on to be a drug and alcohol counselor. She received her Bachelor’s Degree from Wichita State University and her Master’s Degree as a Licensed Professional Counselor from the University of Oklahoma. Her passion was to help women reclaim their lives and worked in the addiction field in Kansas and Oklahoma for 30 years. She was preceded in death by son, Daryl Baier. At the family's request there will be no visitation as cremation has been chosen. A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, November 4th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. BJ Banks officiating.
