Dorcas Arlene Nelson

Dorcas Arlene Nelson, 88, of New Cambria, Kansas, passed away Thursday, February 20th, 2020. She was born in Lucas, Kansas on December 29, 1931, a daughter of the late Ethel Grace (Saunders) and Thayer D. Smith. Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Youngdahl of Salina; three sons, Larry Nelson (Claudia), Ronald Nelson (Deb), and Randy Nelson (Cindy), all of New Cambria; brothers, Delbert Smith (Norma) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and David Smith (Betty) of Wheeling, Illinois; and sister, Dee Rathbun (Don) of Leawood, Kansas. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Darrell; her son, Steven Nelson; granddaughter, Stephanie Markham; and son-in-law, Dale Youngdahl. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 pm on Monday, February 24th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio Street, Salina. Graveside inurnment will be Tuesday, February 25th at 10:00 am at Highland Cemetery, New Cambria. Memorials may be made to Kindred Hospice, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
