Elton Jonathan Long

Elton 'Al' Jonathan Long, 79, of Assaria, Kansas, passed away Sunday, August 13th, at his residence. Elton was born in Shannon City, Iowa on October 18, 1937, son of the late Mildred Louise Long Aistrope and Jonathan Milton Long. Survivors include sons, Jonathan Long (Debra) of Auburn, Georgia, Don Long (Sandra) of Assaria, Kansas; Troy Long (Michelle), of Assaria, Kansas; and brother, Ira Dee Aistrope (Rita), of Glenwood, Iowa. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Caitlyn, Tyler, Braden (Ashley), Jack, Derek (Caree), Brock, Dane (Morgan), Tayler, Drew; great granddaughter, Brecken. Elton was preceded in death by his wife, Mariea; brothers, Morris Aistrope, Marvin Aistrope; Cremation has been chosen. A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 am, Wednesday, August 16, 2017 at First Covenant Church, Salina, Kansas, with Pastor Wes Gibson officiating. Elton will be laid to rest at Oakland Cemetery in Shannon City, Iowa on Saturday, August 19th.
