Emmitt Curtis Hull Sr., 91, of Salina, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. He was born on September 4, 1926 in Memphis, Tennessee, the son of the late Thomas and Malissa (Simon) Hull, Sr. Emmitt served his career in the U.S. Army throughout several wars, and he retired in 1972. He worked for USD 305 for over 20 years where he touched many lives. He also worked as a Greeter for McDonald’s where the he was loved by his fellow employees as well as all of the customers. Emmitt was extremely friendly, treated everyone with kindness, and never met a stranger. He loved spending time with his family. Emmitt married Bernice L. Aldridge on January 7, 1950 in Hernando, Mississippi, she preceded him in death. Emmitt was also preceded in death by three sons, Robert, Emmitt, Jr., and Dabney; three daughters, Janet, Barbara, and Patricia; two grandchildren, Adrian Hull and Anna Hull; three sisters; three brothers; and a grandpup, Abigail. Emmitt is survived by two daughters, Carolyn Hull-Matthews (Michael) and Kat Hull, both of Salina, Kansas; and seven grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2017 at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Celebration of Emmitt’s Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, 2017 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home under the direction of Pastor Jonathan Burt. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Salina, Kansas, where military honors will be provided.
