Floyd E. "Gene" Nelson, 88, of Salina, Kansas, passed away February 15th, 2023.
Gene was born in Clay County, Kansas on September 8th, 1934, the son of Floyd E. Nelson and Rose M. (Hicks) Nelson.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, and wife, Naomi (Walker) Nelson.
Survivors include 3 daughters, Peggy Jean Hughes (Pat), of Stillwater, Oklahoma, Francee Cox (Doug Ochs), of Minneapolis, Kansas, Paula Tomlins (Byron), of Topeka, Kansas; son, John Hiebsch (Wendy) of Wichita, Kansas; 8 grandchildren, and 8 great grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sisters, Karen Wells (Dan Francke), and Sharon Babst (Larry).
Gene's wish was to be cremated.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, February 20th, 2023 at 10:00 am, at First Southern Baptist Church, 2401 S. Ohio St., Salina.
Interment will be private.
The family requests no donations.
