Forrest Eugene Liles Sr., 93, of Mount Hope, Kansas, passed away Wednesday, October 4th, at Mount Hope Nursing Center in Mount Hope, Kansas. Forrest was born in Guide Rock, Nebraska on August 20, 1924, a son of the late Kate (Hahn) and Albert Liles. He worked as a Construction Superintendent at Johnson Construction, Wilson Construction, and Jarvis Construction. He served in the U. S. Navy, and attended First Southern Baptist Church in Salina. On May 24, 1943, he married Doris E. Calahan in Mankato, Kansas. Survivors include his wife; two sons, Dallas J. Liles and companion Joyce Smith of Salina, and Kelly D. Liles and wife Karen, of Colwich, Kansas; daughter, Crystal Geering, of Salina. He is also survived by fourteen grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Forrest is preceded in death by a daughter, Darla Luthi; son, Forrest Liles Jr.; two brothers; one sister; and two half sisters. Visitation will be on Monday, October 9th from 12:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio, Salina, Kansas. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Greenville Cemetery in Niles, Kansas. The family is requesting donations to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #1432 1108 Crawford Salina, KS 67401.
