Gary Lee Gebhart, 81, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, December 25th. He was born in Topeka, Kansas on May 8, 1937, a son of the late Lois Mary (Jackson) and Fred Clinton Gebhart. Gary has been a jack of all trades from working on the railroad, to being a Coca-Cola man, to being a truck driver. Gary and his wife Karen both worked for Thiokal Corporation in Utah where they worked on twenty six mission of sending the shuttle in orbit. The last job Gary had was working as a school bus driver here in Salina, a job he dearly loved. He had many callings in the church from first counselor in Elders Quorun Presidency to head librarian in Salina. Survivors include his wife, Karen; children, Debra Ruth, Gary Lee Gebhart Jr., Ivan Wilbur, Mary Eleanor, Gaylene, and Pamela Yvette; 17 grandchildren; and 38 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Babbette Allyn. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday, December 27th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St. Salina, with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 2:00 PM Friday, December 28th at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with Bishop Brunner officiating. Burial will take place at 11:00 AM, Saturday, December 27th at Farmingdale Cemetery near Phillipsburg, Kansas.
