Gary Vernon Rittger

Gary Vernon Rittger Gary Vernon Rittger, 71, of Salina, Kansas, passed away, November 15, 2013. Gary was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa on June 27, 1942, son of Mildred Marie (Lebert) Rittger and the late Vernon Leroy Rittger. He graduated from University High School, Iowa City, Iowa in 1960. Aircraft mechanics and engines were his career and hobby for most of his life. Survivors include his mother, Mildred Marie (Lebert) Rittger; brother, Melvin Rittger and wife Lorraine of Marquette, Kansas and sister, Rita Kauffman and husband Robert of Columbus, Ohio. He is preceded in death by his father, Vernon Leroy Rittger and wife, Theresa Rittger. At the family's request there will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Rev. Kent Happel officiating. Inurnment will follow at Prairie Mound Cemetery, Rural Ellsworth County, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made in Gary's name to the Donor's Choice.
