George W. Stinger, 73, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Friday, February 23rd. George was born in Syracuse, New York. on September 6, 1944, a son of the late Mabel Leah (Beck) and Alden C. Stinger. Mr. Stinger served in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years of service. He then retired from Exide after 23 years. He was a member and trustee of Cornerstone Community Church. Survivors include Wife, Nancy R. (Regester); two daughters, Jamie J. Stinger (Mike DeBolt) of Salina, and Laura D. Stinger-Lopez (Alejandro Lopez), of Cheyenne Wyoming; a son, Michael A. (Donna) Stinger, of Peabody, Kansas; brother, Alden C. (Sandra) Stinger Jr. of Hamilton, New York; two sisters, Ellen (Robert) Cornell, of Brooktondale, New York, and Joan (Lyman) Crosby, of Wintersprings, Florida. He is also survived by seven grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Visitation will be 1:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, February 27th, with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Memorial service will be at 1:00 PM, Wednesday, February 28th at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas, with David Morris officiating. Inurnment will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Cornerstone Community Church, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
