Grace Piros Witt

Grace Piros Witt, 91, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, November 6th. Grace was born in Scott City, Kansas on November 14, 1925, a daughter of the late Opal (Gross) and Nick Piros. In 1947, she graduated KU with an education degree. She earned her master's degree at Fort Hays State University. She taught Composition, Vocabulary, and Shakespeare at Fort Hays for 31 years. In 1973 she studied Shakespeare in Stratford-Upon-Avon, England, and in 1981 she studied at Cambridge University in Cambridge, England. She married Robert Witt in 1946 in Lawrence, Kansas. He preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by her brother: Jimmy Piros, two sisters Juanita and Maria. Survivors include daughter, Jackie Breiby (Dave), of Salina; two nieces, Ann Day and Nickie Saunders, and two Grandchildren, Danielle (Aaron) Ruder and McKenna Breiby. A memorial service will be held at a later date as cremation has been chosen.
