Gracie Belle Cox, 93, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, June 1st, 2026.
Gracie was born in Dothan, Alabama on December 27, 1932, a daughter of Mary Frances (Johns) and Moses Beacham.
She graduated from Carver Sr. High School in Dothan in 1950 and married Clarence Cox, Sr. and moved to Salina in November 1951. They had 7 children. Clarence, Sr. passed away in 1962.
Gracie attended Brown Mackie College in Salina. She was hired by Saline County in the County Appraiser's office and retired after 30+ years of service.
Gracie was involved in many community organizations, including the Salina NAACP, Quayle United Methodist Church, until it closed, and later became a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her four daughters, Angelyn Robbins, of Kansas City, Missouri, Debora Cox, of Salina, Kansas, Fatimah Denise Daud, of Kansas City, Missouri, Alesia Cox, of Kansas City, Missouri; two sons, Clarence Cox, Jr., of Virginia, and James Cox, of Kansas City, Missouri.
Gracie is also survived by 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Cox, Sr.; daughter, Anita Cox; brother, James Beacham; and sisters, Ruby and Annie Ruth.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 17, from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 18, at Roselawn Cemetery, Salina, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life will be announced and held at a later date.
