Gregory P. Fears Jr.

Gregory 'Greg' Paul Fears, Jr., 42, died Sunday, March 30, 2014. He was born January 22, 1972 to the late Gregory Paul Fears, Sr. and Pecolia (Thomas-Fears) Haynes. He was a member of St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, Salina. Greg is known throughout the community for his love of music. He was employed at Grain Belt in Salina. Greg was preceded in death by his father, Gregory Paul Fears, Sr.; grandmother, Mary Fears; grandfather, Jim Reed Thomas. Survivors include his mother, Pecolia Haynes; two sisters, Kenyetta Byrd (LaErtes) and Neasha Haynes; brother, Royce Haynes (Tamara); grandmother, Bettie Thomas; nephew, Donovan Byrd; niece, Amirrah Byrd and a host of aunts, uncles and cousins. A visitation and vigil service will be held on Friday, April 4 from 6-7:30 p.m. at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral home with Dr. Larry E. Jones leading the vigil. Funeral services will be held at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church, on Saturday, April 5 at 10:00 am. with Pastor Allen D. Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery.
