Harold Eugene Mattison 89, was born April 17, 1928 at the family farm near New Cambria Kansas to Earl & Eunice (Beck) Mattison. Harold graduated from Solomon High School in 1947. He attended Brown Mackie College until the school burnt down. He then became a Teamster and started driving a truck delivering merchandise across North Central Kansas for several companies which lasted for 40 years with a 4-year stint in the Air Force from 1951 to 1955. He retired from Graves Truck Line in 1990. Harold was a lifelong member of the EUB/United Methodist Church where he met Peggy Massey and married her on September 21, 1956 and they were married 60 years before Peggy passed away in May 2017. Together they travelled to all 50 states and most of the Canadian Provinces. Harold was proceeded in death by his parents, wife Peggy, Brothers Earl Jr, and Kenneth, Daughter Debbie Webb, Sons Wesley and Craig, Grandson Tyrone. He is survived by sons Steve (Lindsay) Mattison, Highlandville, MO, Terry (Jelene) Mattison, Falun, Ks, Son-In-Law Danny Webb Smolan, Ks, and Daughter-In-Law Renee Mattison, Culver, Ks, 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great Grandchildren. In lieu of flowers make donations to the United Methodist Church of the Cross. Cremation was chosen so there will be no visitation. A celebration of Harold’s life will be held, Saturday February 3, 2018 at 11 am at the Church of the Cross, 1600 Rush St. Salina, Ks.
