Janeth Kay Burch, 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025.
Born in Salina on May 31, 1947, Janeth was the daughter of Hermenia L. (Younger) and John G. Waldschmidt. She remained deeply rooted in her hometown, where she built a life centered around family and compassion.
Janeth is survived by her three children, Nicole Burch of Salina, Rebecca Burch of Wichita, and Christopher Burch (Christina) of Salina. Her legacy continues through nine grandchildren—Patricia Carney, Brandon Burch, Cheyenne Phillippe (Larry), Tanner Martindale, Justin Burch, Gage Burch, Chase Martindale, Ephram Martindale, and Trinity Burch—as well as two great-grandchildren, Rory and Andrew, with one more on the way.
She is also survived by her sister, Bernita Powell of Danville, Virginia.
Janeth was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chuck Byer; and siblings Herbert Waldschmidt, John Waldschmidt Jr., Bernard Waldschmidt, Melvin Waldschmidt, Donald Waldschmidt, and Leveda Peters.
In keeping with her wishes, cremation has been chosen. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, July 25, 2025 at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Salina.
To honor her enduring love for dogs, memorial donations may be made to the ASPCA or the Salina Animal Shelter, in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St., Salina, Kansas.
