Jebora L. Redden

Jebora "Jebbie" Redden, 60, of Gypsum, Kansas, passed away Sunday, September 30th at home with her husband by her side. She was born in Concordia, Kansas on March 29, 1958, a daughter of the late Betty Mae (Garst) and John Louis Perret. On August 14,1977 she married the love of her life, Marty Gene Redden of Gypsum, KS. The couple lived in Salina and Otis before returning to the family farm in Gypsum in 1988. After working as a EKG Technician at Asbury Hospital Intensive Care Unit, she thoroughly enjoyed caring for and raising her sons full- time, and watching her grandchildren. Jebbie spent her entire life teaching about Jesus and caring for others. From nursery volunteer (her favorite) to teaching sunday school classes of all ages, coordinating vacation bible school, being a youth group leader, to coordinating a couple's weekend. She volunteered as several committee chairs at the Salina Christian Women's Club luncheon group and became the council chair. She then spent time giving her testimony to other clubs throughout central and eastern Kansas as well as western Missouri. In her later years she worked as a hospice home heath worker, caring for families as loved ones traveled the final stages of life. Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Marty of the home; sons, Jason Redden (Cari) of Coffeyville, and Lt. Paramedic Bryon Redden (Janelle) of McPherson; brothers, Jeff Perret (Jeri) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and John Perret (Martha) of Salina; sister, Janelle Sterling of Salina; and sister in law, Clarice of Concordia. She is also survived by grandchildren, Matthew and Kenedi Redden of Coffeyville, and Lucille Redden of McPherson; and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her brother, Dennis Perret; and a nephew, Chris Perret. Visitation will be 3:00 to 8:00 PM, Wednesday, October 3rd at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Funeral service will be 10:00 AM, October 4th at First Covenant Church, Salina, Kansas with Rev. Doug McHenry officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum City Cemetery, Gypsum, Kansas. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Heart of America Chapter or Kindred Hospice, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio Street, Salina.
