Jerry Shawn William Alkire Jr.

Jerry Shawn William Alkire, Jr., 54, of Salina, passed away Thursday, August 14th, 2014. Jerry was born in Salina, on December 6, 1959, the son of Jerry Graham Alkire, Sr., of Derby, and the late Patricia Ann (Napier) Alkire. He worked hard for everything he had and loved his jobs at ADM Milling, ElDorado National, and McIntire Welding. Survivors include daughter, Megan Francis, of Salina, Kansas; three sons Jerry Alkire Jr. , of Denver, Colorado; Dustin Alkire, and wife Aurelie, of Paris, France; and Brice Thrower, of Lawrence; father, Jerry Graham Alkire, Sr. and wife Karla of Derby, Kansas; three sisters, Tina McMillian and husband, Chris of Lindsborg, Lisa Berry and husband, Doug of Pittsburg, and Gina Mortimer of Derby; one grandchild, Adrian McMiller; best friend, Jane King and husband Terry of Salina; and good friend, Christopher King of Topeka. He was very passionate about his family and friends. He was loved and will be greatly missed. He is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Alkire. Graveside services will be held at Roselawn Memorial Park Cemetery at 10:00 am, Monday, August 18th. At the family's request there will be no visitation.
