Jesse L. Douglas, 77, of Kipp, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, July 24th, at Hospice of Salina. Jesse was born in Herington, Kansas on October 14, 1934, son of the late Iva (Wyatt) and Virgil Douglas. He graduated from Herington High School Class of 1954, served in the US Air Force, worked for J B Ersham in Enterprise for 25 years and for Exide Battery of Salina for 10 years. On July 30, 1955, he married Maudina Kelley. Survivors include his wife, Maudina of the home; two sons, Joseph L. Douglas and wife Anita of Bridgeport, Kansas; LeeRoy Douglas and wife Mary of Kipp, Kansas; grandchildren, April, Shane, and Lucas (Alicia) Douglas; Colby and Ariel Douglas; Allan and Shane Collins; seven great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Jesse is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James and Lester Douglas; and sisters, Mary Lou Douglas and Peggy Tyler. A funeral service will be held at at Central Baptist Church, Salina at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27th, with Pastor Gene Davis officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, July 26 from11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Carlson - Geisendorf Funeral Home & Crematory with the family recieving friends from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. with Pastor Gene Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery Kipp, Kansas. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church Missions 2026 Starlight Dr., Salina, Kansas.
