Jim Allen Simmons, 85, of Salina, passed away Monday, June 17, 2013 at Kenwood View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. Born April 4, 1928 in Salina, Kansas to James C. Simmons and Gladys (Keller) Simmons. He gradutated from Salina High School in 1946. He enlisted in the Army Air Corps that summer. He transferred to the Air Force when it was formed. He served 27 years during which he was stationed in Guam, Japan, France, Spain, Thailand and various other countries. He retired as a Master SGT. He married Patricia Watson on March 2, 1952. He was preceeded in death by his parents, two sisters Juanita (Petey) Paige and Lois (Loie) Dunbar, a daughter Sandra and a grandson James (J.T.) Simmons. He is survived by his wife Patricia Simmons, daughters Cindy Hummel and Becky (Larry) Brady, a son Richard (Linda) Simmons and niece Bobbie (Mike) Lamone. Grandchildren Jeff Mullins, Jason Brady, Leslie (Jacob) Mullen, Steven Simmons and Luke Simmons. Greatgrandchildren Jerzee Mullins, Vann Mullins and Brayden Mullen. A memorial service will be held at2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 22 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina, Kansas, with Pastor Tara Thompson officiating.
