Joseph "Joe" Lee Shively

Joseph Lee 'Joe' Shively, 68, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at Salina Regional Health Center after an extended illness. Joe was born in Somerville, New Jersey on April 22, 1947, son of the late Alma Arnetta (Fidler) and Richard Franklin Shively. Joe worked as a Teacher at South Middle School. He was very engaged in ESL teaching. He also worked at the Smoky Hill Museum, the Salina Public Library, and Waldenbooks at Central Mall. He is survived by four daughters, Paula Shively, of Marietta, Georgia, Debra Shively, of Salina, Kansas, Julie Sharkey, and husband Steve, of Liberty, Missouri, Joanna Briel, and husband Ryan, of Lenexa, Kansas; son, David Shively, and wife Ashley, of Carlton, Kansas; grandchildren, Braden Anguiano, Katelyn Shively, Michael Sharkey, Tyler Briel, and Hayden Briel; ex-wife and good friend, Lynn Shively. Family will greet friends Sunday, February 21st from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, Salina. Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 am on Monday, February 22nd, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Salina, Kansas with Fr. Kevin Weber officiating.
