Karen Marie Bussart

Karen M (Simpson) Bussart, 71, of Salina, passed away Tuesday, Aug 24, at Salina Regional Health Center. Karen was born in Smith Center, on Aug 23, 1950, to the late JL & Edna (Ross) Simpson. Karen was full of life and a tremendous giving soul. She loved being surrounded by family. She also loved planting flowers and tending to her yard. Her favorite holiday was Halloween, which, like many other things, will not be the same. She worked at Tony's Pizza for many years, then moved on to Real Estate for 10 years, and retired as a caregiver for TLC, Salina. Karen is survived by four children: Gina Lee (Matt), of Bennington, Ks; Jason (Jennifer) Vermillion; Shawn Vermillion; and Alexandria Bussart, all of Salina. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Also two sisters; Kathy Mace and Becky Cole, both of Smith Center, and a brother; Tim Simpson, of Salina. Karen was preceded in death by her beloved son, Matthew Hansen. Cremation has been chosen and services will be held at a later date.
