Katherlean Jones

Katherlean Jones, 78, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Monday, February 5th. Katherlean was born in Flora, Mississippi on June 14, 1939, a daughter of the late Viola (West) and Ben Pearl Outland, Sr. She worked as the head housekeeper at Super 8 Motel in Salina for over 10 years. Survivors include three daughters, Viola L. Chatt, of Salina, Kansas, Michelle Hulum (Cornelius), of Wichita, Kansas, and Sara M. Thomas, of Salina, Kansas; special daughter, Angelique Gillen, of San Antonio, Texas; four sons, Willie V. Thomas Jr. (Marcia) of Valley Center, Kansas, Larry Thomas (Arlene), of Wichita, Kansas, Roger L. Thomas Sr. (Deborah) of Sylvan Grove, Kansas, and Vernon L Thomas, of Salina, Kansas; two sisters, Ida B. Burse and Mary E. Smith, both of Salina, Kansas; and two brothers, Ernest James Outland, of Salina, Kansas, and Archie Moore, of Flint, Michigan. She is also survived by 11 Grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; four brothers, Velma C. Pete Outland, Joe C. Outland, Ben Pearl Outland Jr., and Edgar Outland; three sisters, Louise Thompson, I.V. Richardson, and Loretha Hopkins (Buster); and children, Lee Nathan Thomas, Tommy Jean Thomas, and Lavon Thomas. Visitation will be Thursday, February 15th, from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 PM. Funeral service will be at 11:00 on Friday, February 16th, at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, with Dr. Larry E. Jones officiating. Burial will follow at Gypsum Hill Cemetery in Salina, Kansas. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, sent in care of Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home, 500 S. Ohio St. Salina, Kansas.
