Larry Wayne Coen

Larry Wayne Coen passed away, October 13, 2014. He was born the 8th day of June, 1937 in Mont Ida, Anderson County, Kansas. He moved to Iola, Allen County, Kansas in 1942, with his parents and siblings. He attended school in Iola, graduating in 1956. Upon graduating he served 4 years in the United State Air Force. Larry moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1960 and worked in construction until 1965, when he went to work at Beech Aircraft where he spent 35 years. He moved to Salina in 1970 where he spent 30 years with the company as a supervisor. Larry retired in 2000. Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Opal S. (Wrider) Coen; his parents, Russell and Ruby Coen; older sister Lita Mae Soderquist and her husband Robert; older brothers, Russell Dale Coen, and Perry Neil and his wife Beverly (Heinlign) Coen; younger sister, Rose Mary Wright and her husband Robert; as well as one great grandson. Survivors include daughter, Ruby Michell Wiegand, of Wichita, Kansas; stepsons, Fred and Robert Johnson, of Texas; sister-in-law, Lily Coen, of Wichita, Kansas; brother-in-law, Jerry Wrider and his wife, of Texas; sister-in-law, Jamesina Wrider, of California; as well as three grandsons, four granddaughters, eight great grandsons, eight great granddaughters, and one great great grandson. Cremation has been chosen and there are no services planned.
