Laverda Arlene Oehlert

LaVerda Arlene Oehlert, 83, of Salina, Kansas, passed away Thursday, September 6th, at Holiday Resort. LaVerda was born in Miltonvale, Kansas on February 27, 1929, daughter of the late Josephine May (Vignery) Parsons and Guy R Brown. She volunteered at Holiday Resort Nursing Home, was a member of the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church Salina, Kansas, where she also volunteered. She was also a member of Christian Women's Fellowship, Diaconate and one of the founding members of the Belmont Christian Church. On Dec. 21, 1947, LaVerda married William 'Bill' E Oehlert, Jr. at First Christian Church in Salina and he precedes her in death. Survivors include son, Jeffrey J. Oehlert, of Salina, Kansas; daughter, Lisa Diane Harvey, of Bel Aire, Kansas; seven grandchildren. LaVerda is preceded in death by Sons; Steven L. Oehlert and Terry A Oehlert; and brother, Marlyn D Brown. Friends are invited to call Monday, September 10, from 9 am - 8 pm at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home. Family will greet friends from 6-8. Funeral services will be held at the Belmont Boulevard Christian Church, Salina, Kansas, at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 11th, with Pastor Tara Thompson officiating.
