Leo Pierce, 82, of Salina, passed away Sunday, May 20th, at his residence surrounded by family. Leo was born in Ft. Coffee, Oklahoma on December 5, 1929, son of the late Ada Bell (Springs) Chatman and David Pierce. He attended Church of God and Christ in Salina. He was the husband of Hazel (Hopkins) Pierce and she survives of the home. Other survivors include three sons, Denoval Reed and wife Patricia of Frisco, Texas, Loren Kirk Pierce, of Salina, Kansas, David Pierce and wife Lisa of Brookshire, Texas; daughter, Theresa M. Ross; sister, Jesse Chatman; grandchildren, Kanesha Lewis-Samilton, Antwon Pierce, LaTisha Pierce, Loren K. Pierce, Jr., Dana Reed, Kyle Reed, Denoval Reed, II, Brandon Pierce, Tracy Rice, and Delaina Peterson as well as great grandchildren, Chaliscia, Levi Jr., Kedric, Marcus, Kezia, Zayden, Ashante, Arilana, Asia, Maria, Kim, Anthony, Tiffny, Demetric, Marvin and Madison; and a host of nieces and nephews. Leo is preceded in death by his parents; stepfather, Sweety Chatman; stepmother, Bell Pierce; brothers, A.D. Pierce and Rudolph Pierce; and daughter, Shirley Ann Brinkley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 2, 2012 at St. John's Missionary Baptist Church. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., Friday, June 1 at Carlson-Geisendorf Funeral Home with the family receiving friends from 6-8.
