Loyd Gaylord "Bear" Ireland

Loyd Gaylord 'Bear' Ireland, 68, of Delphos, Kansas, passed away Tuesday, June 21st. Loyd was born in Manhattan, Kansas on December 5, 1947, a son of the late Naomi (Cantrell) Cunningham and Floyd Ireland. Bear served in the United States Marine Corp and was a Sheriff Deputy in Garden City. He also worked for the Santa Fe and Union Pacific Railroads in Herington, Bonner Springs, Pratt, Kansas City, and Topeka. Survivors include his wife, Mildred 'Millie' (Mustain) Ireland; four daughters, Melanie Ireland, Kim Ragsdale, Amy Lehmann (Todd ), Tanya Piper (Bobby); three sons, David Ireland, John Ireland, John Stone; sister, Sally Hollingshead (Ivan); 9 grandchildren with one on the way. He is preceded in death by his parents; David Cunningham, who raised him; and brother, Richard Cunningham. Memorial Service will be held at the Kansas Veterans Cemetery, Manhattan, Kansas at 10:00 am on Friday, June 24th.
